DVRPC Launches #TrackingTuesday!
Happy #TrackingTuesday! Today is our official launch of this series, which will feature content from Tracking Progress—DVRPC’s award-winning interactive dashboard for exploring Greater Philadelphia’s progress toward the Connections 2050 vision of an equitable, resilient, and sustainable region. This launch coincides with a major update to Tracking Progress with a new look, new indicators, and new data.
Tracking Progress includes 23 indicators, most of which come from annually released public datasets. In total, the dashboard houses almost 90,000 data points. When new datasets are released, DVRPC extracts and analyzes data for the region and identifies key trends. When you see the “new data!” marker in the upper-right corner of an indicator tile, it means the data has been updated and is newly available on the dashboard. (The ‘new data!” marker expires in 30 days.) For the latest news on Tracking Progress updates, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn to see our TrackingTuesdays posts.
Each of the Tracking Progress indicator pages includes interactive charts and useful information describing why the indicator is important, where the data originated, how the region is doing, and what resources may help improve our trends in years to come. There’s a helpful “How To” button on the top of the page to watch video demonstrations of the site’s features.
Tracking Progress is integrated into the new DVRPC Data Center, with links below the indicator charts that take you to our open data. The Data Center gives you access to more than 190 tables for download to allow you to use the data in your own analysis, reports, or presentations.
We hope you’ll keep up with our TrackingTuesdays posts to get new insights into the positive and challenging trends of our region. Explore the updates to the site here!
