DVRPC evaluates multimodal access to tourist destinations to enhance travel and tourism. Greater Philadelphia’s hospitality and tourism economy is a subset of the region’s large service economy and spans multiple economic sectors, including not only visitor attractions but also lodging, recreation, retail activity, food and beverage establishments, and performers. DVRPC staff convene tourism stakeholders to determine their needs in regards to transportation, accessibility, and suggested land use changes.

Destination Delaware Valley
As a part of DVRPC’s ongoing commitment to enhance travel and tourism, Destination: Delaware Valley - A Regional Visit Shed Analysis for Tourist Destinations in Greater Philadelphia used anonymous mobile user data to map a visit shed for 30 area attractions in the region’s suburban counties. The individual site analyses are compiled by county and highlight each county’s visit shed, transportation context, and other key data and information.
