Bike-Friendly Resurfacing Program
The DVRPC/PennDOT Connects Bike-Friendly Resurfacing Program is an effort to identify roads for potential investment in bike friendly improvements as part of regularly scheduled PennDOT resurfacing projects. This effort is being coordinated between the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), PennDOT District 6, the four suburban counties in the Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties), and the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia with the goal of identifying roads that are good candidates for bicycle facilities.

DVRPC Bicycle LTS and Connectivity Analysis
DVRPC Bicycle LTS and Connectivity Analysis Level of Traffic Stress (LTS) is a road classification scheme based on the comfort of bicyclists using that road. DVRPC’s LTS assignment is based on the number of lanes, effective vehicle speed, and presence/type of bicycle facility. The Connectivity Analysis was conducted to determine which segments provide the greatest number of connections throughout the region, from every census block to every other census block.
