Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties have partnered to take a wholesale market approach to purchasing electricity for county operations. They will work together with DVRPC to access low and stable energy prices, access renewable energy in the future, and use resources more efficiently.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced DVRPC was one of six community teams awarded the Clean Energy to Communities (C2C) partnerships program to help develop tailored decarbonization strategies and clean energy solutions.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the first phase of the new $5 billion Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) Program. Under Phase One, EPA will directly award up to $1 million to each of the 67 most populous Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) in the country to develop a climate action plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their MSA. DVRPC will serve as the lead entity for the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD MSA.
