DVRPC has been assessing the composition of retail districts across Greater Philadelphia since 2013, and the recently updated Retail Districts of Greater Philadelphia web map allows users to see how these districts have changed over the past decade.
When compared to our peer regions, Greater Philadelphia’s key industries are supported by a workforce that is at lower risk of automation and has less capacity to work remotely.
The tourism and hospitality industry represents a vital part of the economy in the Greater Philadelphia region, and it requires special consideration for transportation planning purposes. Through DVRPC’s Multimodal Access to Tourist Destinations project, staff investigated visitation trends and transportation implications for select tourist destinations across the region’s eight suburban counties.
DVRPC staff will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss the Great Consolidation and how to anticipate and plan for the impacts of the changing retail banking industry.
On September 26, 2024, the DVRPC Board voted to adopt Growing Greater Philadelphia (2024-2028), the regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
