Draft Update: Connections 2050 establishes a vision for the region’s future and serves as a blueprint for prioritizing $78 billion in capital transportation investment in the region by 2050. DVRPC must receive written comments for the Draft Plan by 5:00 pm (local time) on August 20, 2025.
While the planning field and the region itself has evolved over the years, DVRPC’s purpose and commitment to Greater Philadelphia has remained the same.
Public comment periods for the Draft Update: Connections 2050 Long-Range Plan for Greater Philadelphia (Plan) and the Draft Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2026 DVRPC Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for New Jersey (FFY26-FFY29). There will also be a second, related public comment period for the Draft Conformity Determination: Draft Update: Connections 2050 Long-Range Plan, Draft FFY 2026 DVRPC TIP for New Jersey, and FFY 2025 TIP for Pennsylvania. Public comments on the Draft Conformity Determination will open later this month.
Interns Claire Wolgast, Katie LaCava, Kai Yuen, Neve Zhang, and Stewart Tillyer recently presented on the various projects they have been a part of during their time at DVRPC.
This past fall the DVRPC Board adopted a new set of projections extending to 2050 in collaboration with regional county planning partners through the Socioeconomic and Land Use Analytics Committee (SLUAC). These projections will inform the Update: Connections 2050: Plan for Greater Philadelphia, expected in September 2025.
