On September 26, 2024, the DVRPC Board voted to adopt Growing Greater Philadelphia (2024-2028), the regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).

Congratulations to recently retired DVRPC Deputy Executive Director Patty Elkis, who received the 2024 Leaders Award for Distinguished Service, and the project team for Vision Zero: Hunting Park, who received the Award for Plans.

The meeting highlighted the severity of the healthcare access crisis caused by hospital closures in the region and emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships between first responders, public health, and planning sectors to address the widespread effects on emergency services, healthcare access, and overall community well-being.

A ribbon cutting was held on October 11, 2024, to celebrate the opening of the Pennypack Path Connector Trail in Philadelphia. Part of the Circuit Trails network, this new segment creates a seamless connection from the Delaware River to Bucks County.
