At its international conference in August, the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) inducted Stacy Bartels into the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Hall of Fame. ACT is the premier organization and leading advocate for commuter transportation and TDM professionals. Bartels, who has been at DVRPC for over 30 years, manages DVRPC’s Office of TDM Strategy and Marketing. The induction ceremony highlighted Bartels’ significant impact in the field of TDM and on ACT. 

ACT noted, “At the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, [Bartels] has developed programs that not only serve local communities, but also set the gold standard nationwide. Her exceptional leadership, strategic insight, and ability to deliver impactful TDM solutions have expanded access to reliable transportation for thousands. Widely respected across ACT and the broader transportation field, she is celebrated for her innovative approach and the remarkably high standard she sets. Her work has sparked influential partnerships, earned prestigious awards, and inspired a new generation of professionals committed to advancing the future of transportation.”

“After kind of falling into transportation and TDM through my marketing background, it just stuck,” said Bartels. “Thirty-some years later and the work we all do together is still relevant and making a difference, and I've been privileged to work with very dedicated, progressive, and empathetic people. The Hall of Fame is the professional pinnacle for me and I'm grateful beyond words."

Upon receiving the news of Bartels’ honor, DVRPC Executive Director Ariella Maron said, “This award is a great recognition of Stacy’s expertise. Her work reflects her commitment and passion for TDM and its role in supporting communities. We are lucky to have her on our team.”
