Join Us for a Meeting on Freight and Complete Streets
Join us on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10:00 am, in DVRPC’s offices for a joint meeting of the Delaware Valley Goods Movement Task Force and the Regional Safety Task Force. This meeting will focus on freight and complete streets, with guest speakers providing the perspective of various road users and planning approaches.
Speakers include Kristen Scudder, Manager of Freight Programs at DVRPC, who will present on DVRPC’s recently released guidebook that provides a process for designating a truck network that can meet the needs of all users, especially vulnerable users, in complete streets design. Bob Dolan, from the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association Road Team, will share a truck driver’s perspective on driving in urban areas. Andrew Lappitt, Middlesex County, will share multimodal recommendations from their Southern Middlesex County Freight Movement Study, and Stephen Dunn, The Biking Fireman, will share his experience as a cyclist on the road and as an EMT operating in a large emergency vehicle. Following their presentations, they will sit on a panel moderated by Stephen Chiaramonte, Director of Transportation Planning at WSP.
Coffee will be available at 9:30 am, and lunch will be served following the meeting. Register to attend.
