How did you end up at DVRPC?

After hearing about DVRPC in an undergrad intro to planning class, I applied to DVRPC a few times for various positions, but was unsuccessful. I worked in the defense industry in the DC area for several years before returning to school for planning. During grad school, I was finally successful when I applied to an internship with the regional modeling team, where I worked on the household travel survey. From there, I applied for and secured a position in a three-unit role within the Offices of Modeling and Analysis, Corridor Planning, and Transit, Bicycle, and Pedestrian Planning.

What is your favorite part of working at DVRPC?

I love the opportunity to learn and grow on the job. I have learned so much by being allowed to approach things in new ways and build new skills while doing project work. I also love how passionate and patient the DVRPC staff is when sharing skills and knowledge—I've certainly benefitted from learning from those around me!

Who would you like to drive across the country with?

I would like to drive across the country with my Pop-pop and my oldest son. My son is a big talker, and so was my Pop-pop. They never had the chance to meet, but I would love to listen to them talk to each other for hours.

What is your favorite leisure activity?

Skiing

What is the last book you read?

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry

What are the top 3 places you want to travel to?

Are you a cat or dog person?
