The Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program funds community-based "non-traditional" projects designed to strengthen the cultural, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of the nation's intermodal transportation system.
At the December meeting, the DVRPC Board voted to award $14.328 million to eleven local projects in New Jersey through the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program. The federal program funds community-based "non-traditional" projects designed to strengthen the cultural, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of the nation's intermodal transportation system. Selected projects include trail, sidewalk, pedestrian improvements, and bicycle improvements.
The TASA selected projects and funding amounts are:
- Rancocas Creek Greenway, Historic Smithville Park Connector Trail, Burlington County ($1,500,000)
- Sidewalk and Bike Lane Improvements of Various Roadways, Evesham Township,Burlington County ($1,100,000)
- Bobbys Run Creek Trail Improvements, Lumberton Township, Burlington County ($1,235,000)
- McKendimen Road Pedestrian Improvements, Medford Lakes Borough, Burlington County ($1,356,000)
- Pemberton Browns-Mills Bicycle Pedestrian Action Plan – Phase 1, Pemberton Township, Burlington County ($1,088,000)
- Camden County Link Trail Segment 1D-2, Camden County ($1,500,000)
- Elm Street Streetscape, Bikeway, & Pedestrian Safety Improvements, Camden City, Camden County ($1,500,000)
- North Park Drive Pedestrian Improvements, Cherry Hill Township, Camden County ($1,500,000)
- Centennial Boulevard Pedestrian Improvements, Voorhees Township, Camden County ($1,500,000)
- Johnson Trolley Trail Spruce Street Extension, Mercer County ($1,055,000)
- Completing the Cleveland Road segment of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail, Hopewell Township, Mercer County ($994,000)
