Approval of May 16th Meeting Summary & Discussion of Quorum
NJ Transit Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Updates
Tom Marchwinski, Director of System Planning at NJ Transit, will provide a brief update about the Route 1 BRT and New Brunswick BRT.
Additional Transit Planning
- The executive directors of Greater Mercer Transportation Management Association and Keep Middlesex Moving (Cheryl Kastrenakes and Bill Neary) will speak about efforts to track the range of transit services available and discuss options for next steps.
- A summary will be presented of the draft deliverables of the Mercer County Strategic Bus Plan and CR 571 Park & Ride Study
Route 1 Regional Growth Strategy Action Team Items
- ACTION ITEM - Bill Neary will give the draft presentation for municipal governing bodies about why Smart Growth is important to them and what they can do. Voting members will vote on asking the Action Team to make this presentation in all interested Forum municipalities and elsewhere on behalf of the Forum. Municipalities will be expected to sign up for a presentation for their elected officials or planning and zoning boards.
- The letter of support for Transit Village Program funding was sent but was not ultimately successful. Nonetheless, the program continues with NJDOT and state agency support.
Brief Update on New Jersey Strategic Planning Process
Dan Kennedy, Deputy Director of the NJ State Department Office of Planning Advocacy, will provide an update about the plan discussed last meeting and related efforts.
