1. Welcome and Call to Order
Task Force members and friends will be welcomed and asked to introduce themselves.
2. Freight-Intensive Truck Network Overview
Dan Farina Jr. AICP, DVRPC, will present an overview of the DVRPC Freight Program’s effort to understand regional truck
movements and centers of freight activity and to identify a hierarchy of components that form a regional Freight-Intensive
Truck Network. The network identifies key roads used regularly to support truck movement and acts as a planning tool to
frame outreach, discussion, and decision-making related to freight mobility, collaboration, and goods movement education
across the region. Dan will discuss the methodology used to determine freight-heavy corridors as well as the coordination
that took place with our stakeholder counties. In addition, Dan will provide some insight into how the network will continue
to evolve and be used in upcoming projects like the Regional Freight Plan.
3. New Jersey Statewide Truck Parking Study – Phase 1 Results Overview
Janice Marino-Doyle, NJDOT, Bridget Wieghart, WSP, and Sebastian Guerrero, WSP will provide an overview of Phase 1 of
the New Jersey Statewide Truck Parking Study that has been recently completed. The project team will share a summary of
several discrete elements including system inventory and performance as well as the needs assessment. The results that
will be presented detail the substantial need for truck parking solutions across the state. Although the level of need varies
across corridors, the highest need segments of the roadway network consistently emerge on the state’s primary freight
corridors.
4. Freight Technology Spotlight: RailWhiz
Co-Founders Lee Shelly and Zach Zimbler will provide a live demonstration of the RailWhiz platform. They will discuss how
Railwhiz is helping carriers, shippers, and infrastructure managers move beyond traditional reporting to get actionable
insights from their train operations. Practical applications like identifying congestion points and maximizing equipment
utilization will be shown. Zach will also discuss how the same principles used to create Railwhiz can be applied to develop
custom, AI-driven intelligence solutions for other freight modes and operational areas, and how an organization can go
about building these specialized platforms for their own needs. This presentation will look at one way of improving
efficiency, reliability, and safety across the logistics industry today—by way of technology-based solutions.
5. Two-minute Reports
Task Force members and friends are invited to offer updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.
The next meeting of the Goods Movement Task Force will be held on January 14, 2026 at 10am.
