3. 1998 - 2001 Transportation Improvement Program Amendments

During the course of the year, it becomes necessary to amend or modify the current Transportation Improvement Program. SEPTA is requesting various projects and project phases funded with 100% state tax resources be included and Montgomery County is requesting engineering for four bridges.

TIP Amendment 9732 - SEPTA Act 3 Revenue Enhancement Package

TIP Amendment 9733 - SEPTA Vehicle Maintenance

4. DVRPC Regional Indicators Measuring Our Progress To 2020

This draft technical document serves to expand upon the 29 Regional Indicators presented to the RTC in June. These Indicators will measure the region's progress in attaining the goals of Direction 2020.

5. Access-to-Jobs Demonstration Grant

DVRPC staff is working with SEPTA, the City of Philadelphia and others to prepare a demonstration project to link welfare recipients in designated Philadelphia neighborhoods with existing jobs in the Airport Activity Center and King of Prussia. If funded, this project would provide expanded transit services plus certain support services to encourage the transition from welfare to work.

6. Pennsylvania FY97 TIP Performance and FY98 Program Target

The DVRPC region was provided an obligation target for FY 1997 of 29% of federal transportation funds which ends on October 1, 1997. PennDOT will report on its performance in meeting the target, and the RTC will also discuss the target for FY98.

7. Reauthorization of ISTEA

Staff will present the latest information available on the reauthorization of ISTEA.

8. DVRPC FY 1999 Planning Work Program

Information and schedules for the development of Transit Support Program and Supportive Highway Planning Program will be made available. A report in the development will be presented.

9. City Avenue District Transportation Study

Philadelphia City Planning Commission Staff will provide an overview of their recently completed study of transportation needs and solutions in that corridor.

10. New Standards for Ozone and Fine Particulate Matter

EPA has adopted new, more stringent standards for ozone and particulate matter of less than 2.5 microns. EPA is also circulating an implementation plan for transitioning to the new standards. Staff will brief the RTC on the significance of these changes to transportation planning.
