3. Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments/Modifications
During the course of the year, it becomes necessary to amend or modify the existing Transportation Improvement Program.
4. Horsham Road Congestion Management System Analysis
The Congestion Management System Analysis for Horsham Road in Montgomery County is complete and ready for approval. Staff will present a description of the projects, the CMS and associated commitments.
5. 1997 Estimates of Population and EmploymentStaff has developed and will present estimates of population and employment for 1997. This information is necessary for various studies and planning activities including the update of long range regional forecasts.
INFORMATION ITEMS6. ISTEA Reauthorization
This federal legislation to extend highway and transit funding for the next six years was scheduled for action prior to the Congressional Recess for Memorial Day. All available information on funding levels, policy changes, and pending USDOT regulations will be made available.
7. Vehicle Occupancy Rates for the Delaware Valley RegionConsistent with federal regulations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and New Jersey Department of Transportation requested a study of vehicle occupancy rates. Our region, with a severe air quality problem, is required to measure and monitor these rates over time to evaluate program effectiveness. The first report, dated April 1998, will be presented.
