6. Authorization to Open 30-Day Public Comment Period for the Draft DVRPC 2011 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for New Jersey (FY2011-2014) and Pennsylvania (FY2011-2014) and for the associated Transportation Conformity Determination
Federal law planning regulations require the development of a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) in order for the metropolitan region to be eligible to receive federal transportation funds. The TIP must be drawn from a conforming long range plan, requiring that a new conformity determination also be prepared. Staff will seek a recommendation to open a 30-day public comment period and release documents in May 2010, for the purpose of gathering public and agency comments on the Draft DVRPC 2011 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for New Jersey (FY2011-2014) and Pennsylvania (FY2011-2014), and for the associated Draft Transportation Conformity Determination.
7. Fiscal Year 2010 Planning Work Program Amendments
To respond to the needs of member governments and agencies, work program changes and additions are brought to the PCC/RTC to permit the timely undertaking of technical activity.

8. NJ Route 73 Corridor Study
This study seeks to preserve the operating performance of the current transportation facilities within the Route 73 corridor, promote multi-modal transportation solutions to help alleviate current and forecasted travel growth, coordinate land use and transportation planning, determine policies for future transportation improvements, and encourage municipal actions to achieve a land use pattern that is reflective of smart growth principles.
9. Transportation Security Planning at DVRPC
Being prepared for major natural and manmade events is essential to the region, and the transportation element is required as a planning factor by FHWA. DVRPC has prepared an overview report, Fitting the Pieces Together: Improving Transportation Security Planning in the Delaware Valley. It includes steps DVRPC can take and strategies that may be considered by staff at other agencies for a wide range of projects.
