5.  DVRPC Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Actions

The dynamic nature of funding transportation improvements and the need to remain within financial constraint require amendments or modifications to the TIP. The following projects require formal TIP Amendments or Modifications this month for the FY 2022 TIP for NJ.

a. NJ22-022: Electrical Cable Replacement (DB #DR008), DRPA/PATCO – Add Project Back into the TIP

b. NJ22-023: PATCO Station Platform Rehabilitation (DB #DR1803), DRPA/PATCO – Cost Increase

c. NJ22-024: PATCO Viaduct Preservation (DB #DR2007), DRPA/PATCO – Cost Increase

d. NJ22-025: PATCO Interlocking & Track Rehabilitation (DB #DR1501), DRPA/PATCO – Cost Increase

BRIEF REPORTS

6. Growing Resilient Local Economies

Staff will present a summary of the recently published brochure Municipal Implementation Tool #34: Cultivating a Homegrown Economy. This brochure reviews a societal shift towards greater support for local economies, as demonstrated by increased consumer prioritization of local goods and services, and recommends specific strategies that the region's municipalities can implement in order to capitalize on this trend.

7. Cross County Connection TMA’s Safety and Sustainability Initiatives

Cross County Connection TMA (CCCTMA) will share information and highlights from two of their most active government services programs – bicycle and pedestrian safety audits and EV assistance. A TMA must be informed and skilled in many aspects of transportation. CCCTMA has put safety and sustainability at the forefront of their offerings, resulting in a positive impact in South Jersey.   

8. PennDOT Connects Resurfacing in the City of Philadelphia

Since 2019, DVRPC has assisted the City of Philadelphia with traffic capacity analysis to better understand opportunities and tradeoffs in the design of new bicycle facilities as part of the PennDOT Connects Resurfacing program. This presentation will touch on several forthcoming bike lane projects in West Philadelphia and Center City, providing an overview of DVRPC's analysis work and how it was used by the City of Philadelphia in its community outreach efforts.
