PRESENTATION ITEMS

8. Montgomery County’s New Transit-Oriented Development Model Ordinance

The Montgomery County Planning Commission recently released a model ordinance for a transit-oriented development (TOD) zoning district that can be applied to any of the county’s 49 SEPTA regional rail and Norristown High Speed Line stations.  Using station area typologies that reflect the wide range of communities that have grown up around our region’s transit hubs, the ordinance is a tool for any locality to encourage higher transit ridership, good urban design, and efficient use of land regardless of whether they’re a village, borough, or city neighborhood.  MCPC staff will provide an overview of the ordinance, which can be found online at https://www.montcopa.org/3907/Transit-Oriented-Development-TOD.

9.  Redesign of the Walter Rand Transportation Center

How a member government used TCDI as a tool to build consensus on  a new design of the largest transportation center in Southern New Jersey. See https://www.camdencounty.com/service/walter-rand-transportation-center-planning-design-study/ for more information.
