1. Call to Order

Task Force members and friends will be welcomed and recognized. Highlights from the previous freight advisory committee meeting on October 14, 2016 will be offered for approval.

2. Critical Urban Freight Corridors

In support of the FAST Act and the National Highway Freight Program (NHFP), PennDOT has requested that DVRPC identify Critical Urban Freight Corridors for potential addition to the new National Highway Freight Network (NHFN). Mike Ruane will provide an update of DVRPC’s effort to complete this important task.

3. Goods Movement in Complete Streets Environments: Lessons from 10 US Cities

Dr. Alison Conway will discuss an ongoing project to develop a guidebook on accommodating goods movement in Complete Streets environments. This project is being conducted by the City College of New York with assistance from the NYC Department of Transportation. The presentation will focus on urban access challenges faced by commercial vehicle operators in US cities and best practices from the US and abroad for addressing these.

4. An Untapped Resource

DELCORA’s Western Regional Treatment Plant for treating municipal, commercial, and industrial wastewater serves much of Delaware County including the industrial waterfront. Bob Willert and Mike DiSantis of DELCORA will discuss the economic and job growth potential of the facility.

5. Connec¿tions 2045 Long-Range Plan Freight Discussion

DVRPC is updating the region's long-range plan and wants to hear from the DVGMTF on the issues that will impact the freight community over the next 30 years. Mike Boyer will present an overview of the long-range planning process and will ask meeting attendees to help identify priority freight issues, to be followed by a facilitated discussion of strategies. (Please bring a cell phone with texting capability to participate in a dynamic polling exercise.)

6. Two-minute Reports

Task Force and Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members and friends are invited to offer updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.

7. Old or New Business/Adjournment

Old or new items of business will be considered. The remaining 2017 meeting dates of the Delaware Valley Goods Movement Task Force are: April 12, July 12, and October 11.
