1. Call to Order

Task Force members and friends will be welcomed and recognized. Highlights from the previous freight advisory committee meeting on October 17, 2012 will be offered for approval.

2. Freight Web Mapping Application—Action Item

DVRPC’s Michael Ruane will present DVRPC’s new freight web mapping application. The application is a unique, regional tool that provides increased opportunities for data sharing across the Delaware Valley, providing capacity and activity data for 7 categories of freight facilities. The Task Force will be asked to support the development and maintenance of this tool (see Action Item 13-03).

3. Connections 2040 Update to the Region’s Long Range Plan

The Connections 2040 update to Greater Philadelphia’s long range plan is underway. The Plan presents a vision for the orderly growth and development of the region, and includes a fiscally constrained financial plan for improving the transportation system. DVRPC’s Brett Fusco will provide an overview of major outreach activities, including the Choices and Voices web app, and discuss how freight considerations are incorporated into the Plan.

4. New Jersey's Statewide Freight Rail Strategic Plan

New Jersey DOT’s Miki Krakauer will present the final draft of the New Jersey Statewide Freight Rail Strategic Plan. The Plan offers a strategic assessment of the issues surrounding rail freight in New Jersey and potential solutions. Comments on the draft Plan are requested by the end of January, 2013.

5. World Trade Association of Philadelphia

The President of the World Trade Association of Philadelphia (WTA), Harvey Weiner, and WTA First Vice President Dominic O’Brien will discuss the work of the WTA, which for 81 years has built trade and transportation connections between the Delaware Valley and the world. WTA’s members include steamship lines, marine terminals, manufacturers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouse companies, trucking firms and others.

6. The Bakken Oil Field and Philadelphia Area Refineries

Jack Galloway, Chairman, President, and Founder of Canopy Prospecting, will discuss initiatives to deliver Bakken and other light sweet crude oil to Philadelphia area refineries. Canopy Prospecting, Inc. is a local energy company focused on developing and operating niche petroleum midstream and process opportunities in the United States and the Caribbean.

7. Two-minute Reports

Task Force and Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members and friends are invited to offer updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.

8. Old or New Business/Adjournment

Old or new items of business will be considered. The remaining 2013 meeting dates of the Delaware Valley Goods Movement Task Force are: April 16, July 17, and October 16.
