1. Call to Order
Task Force members and friends will be welcomed and recognized. Highlights from the previous freight advisory committee meeting on January 12, 2012 will be offered for approval.
2. DVRPC’s Public Participation Plan—Action Item
Each Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is mandated to have a Public Participation Plan. The Plan serves as a guide to the agency’s public involvement efforts. An updated DVRPC Public Participation Plan will be presented by Jane Meconi, DVRPC Public Involvement Manager, and offered for recommended adoption.
3. Camden City Truck Traffic Management, Streetscape and Safety Enhancement Project
Uzo Ahiarakwe, City Engineer for the City of Camden, will describe a project seeking to ameliorate the issues of trucks which traverse residential streets in the Waterfront South section of Camden City while serving the industrial and port areas.. The project is being funded through New Jersey DOT’s Local Aid program.
4. Better Predicting Pavement Response to Increased Freight Loads
Dr. Leslie McCarthy of Villanova University will present an overview of the new AASHTO mechanistic-empirical pavement design approach. In particular, she will focus on how planners can use this analysis tool for predicting the long-term impacts of increased freight loads on highway pavements.
5. Campbell Soup: Supply Chain Overview
Adolfo Jimenez, Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, will discuss the global supply chain for the Campbell Soup Company. Based at its world headquarters in Camden, NJ, the Campbell Soup Company is a global manufacturer and marketer of high-quality foods that are sold in more than 100 countries across the world.
6. Colonial Pipeline Company: Transporting Refined Petroleum Products into the Delaware Valley
Sam Whitehead of Colonial Pipeline will provide an overview of pipeline operations and the distribution system that gets liquid motor fuels to northeast states including the Delaware Valley region. Colonial Pipeline is striving to meet increased demand for products into the Northeast.
7. Two-minute Reports
Task Force and Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members and friends are invited to offer updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.
8. Old or New Business/Adjournment
Old or new items of business will be considered. The next scheduled meeting of the Delaware Valley Goods Movement Task Force is July 18.
