New Task Force members will be recognized and January 13, 1999 meeting notes will be offered for approval.
[2] New Jersey Truck Issues
Dennis Keck, Senior Executive with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, will discuss trucking operations and their increasing importance in transportation planning. Points to be covered will include facts and local concerns about truck volumes and safety, current strategies and initiatives, and potential actions for the future.
[3] Landside Access To Petty''s Island Maritime Complex
Ted Dahlburg of DVRPC will describe a study examining landside access to Petty''s Island in Pennsauken, New Jersey. In the spirit of the National Highway System (NHS) connectors and Intermodal Management Systems (IMSs), the study will recommend a capital improvement program to improve highway and rail connections serving the three intermodal freight facilities on the island.
[4] Operation Lifesaver and Railroad Trespasser Programs
Don Thomas of the Federal Railroad Administration will present the Operation Lifesaver and Railroad Trespasser programs. This public initiative focuses on two significant railroad safety issues: highway grade crossings and railroad trespassers.
[5] Two-minute Reports
Task Force and Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members will provide updates on the relevant activities of their companies and agencies.
[6] Old/New Business
Old or new items of business will be considered.
