1. Call to order
All Task Force members will be recognized and the July 21, 2004 meeting notes will be offered for the committee''s approval (see meeting highlights).
2. Long Range Plan Update
DVRPC, New Jersey DOT, and PennDOT are all engaged in preparing transportation plans which prominently feature considerations of freight movement. Project managers for these plans will present updates on progress and technical activities to date, and also highlight opportunities for input from members of the Goods Movement Task Force.
3. Land Use and Freight Summit
In 2005, the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) is proposing to conduct a Land Use and Freight Summit focused on the role of land use and design concepts and how they interact with goods movement. Fred Abousleman, Transportation Director for NARC, will describe the summit and a potential role to be played by the Goods Movement Task Force.
4. Aqua America
Chris Franklin, Vice President for Public Affairs and Customer Operations, will discuss Aqua America and its special perspective on goods movement. Aqua America (formerly Philadelphia Suburban) provides water and wastewater services to 750,000 residential and business customers in more than a dozen states.
5. Two-minute Reports
Task Force and Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members will provide updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.
6. Old/New Business
Old or new items of business will be considered. The proposed 2005 meeting dates of the Goods Movement Task Force will be presented.
