Welcome and Call to Order

Task Force members and friends will be welcomed. Highlights from the previous freight advisory committee meeting on July 14, 2021 will be offered for approval.
 

Delaware Statewide Truck Parking Study and First/Final Mile Freight Network Development

Dan Blevins, Principal Transportation Planner, WILMPACO, will share an overview of two recent Delaware freight projects conducted in partnership with DelDOT. The Delaware Statewide Truck Parking Study addresses overnight parking hotspots as well as more localized, shorter-term truck parking and staging needs across the state. The First/Final Mile Freight Network Development effort created a greater understanding of Delaware’s first/final mile connections, focusing on roads that link businesses to state and national highway networks.
 

NorthPoint Redevelopment of former US Steel Site

Dennis Jones, Site Director, NorthPoint Development, will introduce The NorthPoint Development proposed redevelopment at the former US Steel Fairless Works site into a new e-commerce, logistics, and multi-modal industrial center.
 

DVRPC Freight Program Updates

DVRPC freight planning staff will provide a brief update on current planning efforts.

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) fully complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related nondiscrimination mandates in all programs and activities.
