DVRPC staff has worked collaboratively with county planning staffs to develop population and employment forecasts in five-year increments through 2050. It is the first forecast effort to collect an extensive inventory of proposed real estate development projects to inform future growth and the first to use a land use model, UrbanSim, to simulate the pace and pattern of growth beyond the region's known projects. Staff will present the 2050 population and employment forecasts, and request Board adoption.
