This publication outlines a plan for municipal action to preserve farmland and the agricultural industry in Franklin Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. It delineates Agricultural Project Areas within the township and lists individual farm properties for priority preservation. It meets the requirements for such plans of the NJ State Agricultural Development Committee and supports application to the state for a Farmland Planning Incentive Grant for Franklin. Information on Franklin Township's agricultural land base, its soils, the region's agricultural status, township planning, farmland preservation options, delineation of natural resource conservation programs for farmers, and ideas to support local farmers and strengthen the local agricultural industry are provided through text, tables, and maps. Farmland already preserved in Franklin is documented, and future plans to protect farmland are outlined, including a multi-year funding plan for future farmland preservation through purchase of development easements. The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) fully complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related nondiscrimination mandates in all programs and activities. DVRPC’s public meetings are always held in ADA-accessible facilities and in transit-accessible locations whenever possible. Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice by DVRPC under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with DVRPC's ADA and Title VI Compliance Officer Shoshana Akins and/or the appropriate state or federal agency within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory occurrence.
