How DVRPC Can Help Municipalities 

As the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for Greater Philadelphia, DVRPC offers tools, guidance, and technical assistance to help local governments plan, design, and implement projects. Our support is available to all 350 municipalities across our nine-county region.

We can help with:

• Data and Mapping Tools—including demographics, land use, traffic counts, safety, and forecasts.
• Funding and Grant Support—including DVRPC-administered funding opportunities like the Regional Trails Program, TCDI, and CMAQ. 
• Planning and Technical Assistance—on transportation, land use, housing, economic development, climate, environment, and resiliency.
• Shared Services and Collaboration—support for regional partnerships, shared staff or services, and multi-municipal planning.
• Design and Pilot Project Support—especially for walkability, traffic calming, safe streets, transit access, and other “non-traditional” projects.
• Community Engagement Resources—including tools, templates, and facilitation support.
• Connections to Subject Experts—from DVRPC staff to partner agencies.
• Navigation Help—guidance to identify the right programs, tools, or contacts based on your needs.

DVRPC offers assistance to communities to test solutions to transportation problems through demonstration projects. We help with conceptual design and performance measurements for projects that apply various pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and roadway strategies that address safety and placemaking.
