Abstract: This brochure presents an overview of the relationship between speeding—driving too fast for conditions, racing, or exceeding the posted speed limit—and crash frequency and crash severity. Highlighted here are regional speeding-related crash trends, an examination of contributing circumstances, and speed reduction strategies in the areas of engineering, education and enforcement that would be useful to local roadway owners and local stakeholders.
