1. Welcome & Introductions

 

2. Achieving Stable, Adequate Transportation Funding

  1. Tom Bracken, Chairman of Forward NJ and President and CEO of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, will reflect on the business community’s view of transportation funding and discuss possible approaches to coordinating on a positive result in this cycle of refinancing the Transportation Trust Fund
  2. Phil Beachemn, President of NJ Alliance for Action, will launch a discussion of possible specific next steps that the Forum could consider
  3. Forum discussion of next steps, which may include voting on a letter of support for stable, adequate transportation funding

3. Coordinated Community Transit Planning

  1. Where are the gaps? Greg Krykewycz, Manager of Transit, Bicycle, and Pedestrian Planning at DVRPC, will describe innovative techniques being used to identify gaps in transit access for a range of populations as part of the update of DVRPC’s Coordinated Human Service Transportation Plan (CHSTP), called Equity Through Access
  2. How to Fill the gaps - Steve Fittante, Director of Local Programs and Minibus Support at NJ Transit, will highlight relevant CHSTP elements from Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset counties

4. Forum Business

  1. Approval of July 2nd Summary – VOTE
  2. Tom Vigna, Chair of the Route 1 Regional Growth Strategy Action Team, will introduce an effort getting underway to develop a best practices piece on implementing transportation smart growth policies
  3. Jack Kanarek, Chair of the Transit Action Team, will provide an update on their efforts to expand the Transit Supportive Toolbox and participate in CHSTP updates.
