About Ariella Maron

Ariella Maron is the Executive Director of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), the metropolitan planning organization for the Greater Philadelphia region. As both the leader of a 100+ person staff and liaison to the DVRPC Board, she has the primary responsibility to steer the creation of a regional agenda and accelerate delivery of projects that help to implement it.

Prior to working at DVRPC, Maron was a consultant supporting the work of cities, communities, and their partners across the country, first as Principal in the Cities practice of Buro Happold Engineering and as the CEO of her own consultant firm, Lion Advisors, based in Philadelphia. As a consultant, she helped regional authorities, local governments, communities, supporting organizations, and philanthropy to align community and institutional priorities, design more inclusive engagement processes and governance models, and develop strategic plans and initiatives to achieve shared goals. She was also a partner with the collaborative City Scale, which looked to explore and expand the roles that local governments play. Maron began her planning career working in the Bronx Office of the New York City Department of City Planning, followed by the NYC Economic Development Corporation, Mayor's Office, and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services.

Maron holds a master's degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
