The Regional Safety Task Force (RSTF) was established in September 2005 to bring together a multidisciplinary group of professionals to identify safety goals, strategies, and resources to reduce crashes and eliminate serious injuries and fatalities on roadways in the Greater Philadelphia region. The task force looks at many strategies and initiatives–including engineering solutions, public education, enforcement initiatives, delivery of emergency services, legislation and funding–and works across all transportation modes, including automobile, truck, transit, bicycle, and foot. The task force plays a significant role in developing the forthcoming Regional Vision Zero Action Plan.

A key part of safety is education. DVRPC developed a tool for media partners to help improve safety culture by reframing the issue and using human-centered reporting.
