For Public Review: Draft Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy - Growing Greater Philadelphia

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) is seeking your input and will open a public comment period for the draft regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Five-Year Update entitled, Growing Greater Philadelphia - Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. DVRPC will accept comments from August 1, 2019 until September 3, 2019 at 5:00 PM local time.

The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) requires that regions maintain a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Growing Greater Philadelphia covers the nine-county DVRPC region and includes demographic, economic, and land use data; identifies regional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats; discusses economic resilience; identifies regional economic development goals, objectives, and strategies; and identifies potential performance measures that will be tracked in future years to measure progress made toward achieving the regional goals. The regional CEDS was developed under the guidance of a committee that includes representatives of the county planning and economic development agencies, regional economic development organizations, educational institutions, and the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Once approved by the DVRPC Board, this document will serve as the required five-year revision of the regional CEDS, which was last approved by the EDA in 2014.

An electronic version of DVRPC's Draft Regional CEDS is available at https://www.dvrpc.org/Economic/CEDS/. Hardcopies of the policy document are available in the DVRPC Resource Center and in a number of regional libraries, while the list of regionally significant economic development projects is available online. If requested, the Draft document can be translated into an alternative format or language, and the list of projects can be made available in hardcopy. To make a request for a hardcopy or translated document, please contact the DVRPC Office of Communications and Engagement at 215-592-1800 or public_affairs@dvrpc.org.
