Public Notice: FY10 Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom Grant Program

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) is accepting applications from eligible agencies and organizations for the FY10 Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom Grant Program. JARC helps fund transportation services and supporting activities that facilitate access to jobs for lower income persons as well as reverse commute trips for the general public. The New Freedom Program seeks to reduce barriers to transportation services and expand the transportation mobility options available to people with disabilities beyond the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Both programs apply to existing and proposed services within Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Montgomery counties. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m., January 30, 2009.

DVRPC, as the metropolitan planning organization (MPO), solicits project proposals, facilitates the selection process, and evaluates the consistency of proposed projects with the adopted Coordinated Human Service Transportation Plan. Approved projects are then added to the regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). For grant applications, eligible agencies and organizations, eligible projects, and additional information, please see www.dvrpc.org/CoordinatedHumanServices/.
