3. Capabilities of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
Franco Cappa, a Cybersecurity Advisor with CISA will review the capabilities and partnerships
the agency is able to offer to other government entities in the region. The CISA is the Nation’s risk
advisor, working with partners to defend against today’s threats and collaborating to build more
secure and resilient infrastructure for the future. At a more localized level, the agency, through
federal funding, provides cybersecurity auditing of an organization’s communication and
infrastructure network.
4. New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communication Integration Cell (NJCCIC)
Krista Valenzuela, a Senior Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst with NJCCIC will speak on the
current state cybersecurity in New Jersey. The NJCCIC serves as the State’s one‐stop shop for
cybersecurity information, threat analysis, and incident reporting. Operating within the New
Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, the NJCCIC acts as a cyber fusion center,
works to make the state more resilient to cyber‐attacks, and encourages the widespread
adoption of cybersecurity best practices.
5. Artificial Intelligence: History and Workings of Machine Learning
Keith Rayle, Global Strategist, with Fortinet, will speak about artificial intelligence (AI) and
provide the history and workings of it, current industry implementations, and how AI‐based
security systems are being linked to provide higher levels of protections and insight into
cybercriminal behaviors. This behavior includes attacks against infrastructure but also
encompasses how threat intelligence is gathered and analyzed to predict criminal organization
campaigns.
