PRESENTATIONS
5. Rating the Region: The State of the Delaware Valley
Staff will present the findings of the Commission's current Rating the Region which updates the 1993 report and provides an objective, quantifiable analysis of the relative strengths and weaknesses of the Delaware Valley region. The current report compares 13 metropolitan areas in terms of their human environment; the economy; the built and natural environment; transportation; and the civic environment.
6. Innovations in Zoning for Smart Growth
Staff will give a brief overview of a recently released DVRPC study, Innovations in Zoning for Smart Growth that investigates the root flaws in conventional zoning codes and discusses a variety of approaches for codifying smart growth, including form-based codes and hybrid zoning.
7. Road Safety Audit Program
DVRPC has been working with PennDOT, District 6, to identify roadways which demonstrate a history of, or have a potential for a high incidence of motor vehicle crashes. Staff will present DVRPC's Road Safety Audit Program which addresses the safe operation of the region's roadways and ensures a high level of safety for all road users.
