Translations

In accordance with Executive Order 13166, DVRPC is employing a comprehensive strategy to provide translated information to the region's non-English speaking residents. DVRPC utilized the Year 2000 US Census information to determine the languages to be used on our site. Due to the high cost of professional translations, these resources will be rolled out in a phased manner.

For the initial phase, the following documents have been professionally translated into Spanish, Chinese and Russian:

• Introduction to DVRPC FY 2007 Planning Work Program
• Introduction to "And Justice for All" Report
• Citizen's Guide
• Marketing Guide
• Newsletter "DVRPC NEWS"

Additional resources are also linked here, when availible.

For the second phase of this project, DVRPC will be providing "on-the-fly" machine translation for the the entire DVRPC website. DVRPC has selected a third-party service (WorldLingo) for automatic translation of our website. This service is expected to launch in Summer 2006 after some technical issues are resolved.
