Regional Indicators
Regional IndicatorsIn June 2005, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) adopted Destination 2030, its current long range plan, which identifies important regional policy and planning objectives. The plan is a comprehensive blueprint for the region's future, and considers means to maintain the region's infrastructure and to fund its programs. Tracking Progress Toward 2030: Regional Indicators for the DVRPC Long Range Plan ("Tracking Progress") serves as a systematic framework through which DVRPC can monitor the region's advancement toward the attainment of its long range planning goals and highlight effective programs. Tracking Progress is an ongoing, outcome-based effort to align DVRPC's planning and implementation activities, and is intended to guide the region's investment strategy and help achieve Destination 2030's adopted visions and goals. The project is designed to collect and compile a meaningful time series data set that can help DVRPC and its planning partners be more effective in decision-making. The resulting products will also feed back into future long range plan updates and subsequent performance measures to provide an invaluable interface between the region's investment pattern and the evaluative process. Tracking Progress is a critical component in assessing the implementation of the DVRPC long range plan. In previous years, DVRPC undertook planning exercises to evaluate the region's progress toward the goals established in its two most recent adopted long range plans, Direction 2020 and Horizons 2025. These exercises resulted in the 1998 and 2000 regional indicator reports, which are archived under the Past Efforts link. |
