WMA 18: Lower Delaware Tributaries

WMA 18 Location Map The Lower Delaware Tributaries Watershed Management Area 18 (WMA 18) of New Jersey extends southward along the Delaware River from Swede's Run in Delran and Moorestown townships in Burlington County to Oldman's Creek in Oldmans Township, Salem County. The Area includes ten watersheds and encompasses all or part of 65 municipalities.

Area 18 SubAreas

For the purpose of focusing on local issues and local solutions within the larger watershed context, Area 18 is divided into three SubAreas:

  • The upper SubArea is more fully developed and includes the Swede's Run, Pompeston Creek, Pennsauken Creek, Cooper River and Newton Creek watersheds in Burlington and Camden counties.
  • The middle SubArea is undergoing active development and encompasses the Big Timber Creek, Woodbury Creek and Mantua Creek watersheds in Camden and Gloucester counties.
  • The lower SubArea is still mostly rural and includes the Repaupo, Raccoon and Oldmans Creek watersheds, in Gloucester and Salem counties.
