Redeeming
TransitCheks
TransitCheks are vouchers that can be redeemed to purchase passes, tickets, and
tokens for all transit agencies in the Delaware Valley—SEPTA, PATCO, NJ
Transit (including the RiverLINE), DART First State, and Amtrak (multi-trip
tickets only), as well as VPSI, Inc. (vanpools).
In
South Central Pennsylvania, the following transit
providers accept TransitCheks: CAT (Harrisburg),
COLT (County of Lebanon Transit), Red Rose (Lancaster
County), rabbittransit (York County). Please
check with your transit provider for authorized
sales locations.

Some important things to know about
using your TransitCheks:
- TransitCheks
are issued in $15, $20, $21, $30, $35, $60
and $65 denominations. Your employer decides
what denomination(s) to offer.
- You
cannot use your TransitChek on the bus or train
to pay for your ride. You must redeem it in
advance to purchase tickets, tokens or passes.
- TransitCheks
are accepted at most authorized transit sales
outlets. Contact your transit system for sales
outlet locations. See Regional
Transit Resources for more information.
- If
you purchase a ticket that costs more than
the value of your TransitChek, you pay the
difference. Alternately, if you buy a ticket
that costs less than the value of your TransitChek,
you WILL NOT get change back, so plan your
purchase carefully.
- Pay
close attention to the expiration date on your
TransitChek. TransitCheks not used within the
13-month validation period will not be accepted
or replaced.
- You
can redeem up to FIVE TransitCheks at one time.
There is no limit on the dollar amount you
can redeem at one time.
- Handle
your TransitCheks with care. They will not
be replaced if lost or stolen. Nor will they
be accepted or replaced if they have been tampered
with, worn or torn.
- Contact
your employer first regarding any problems
with your TransitChek voucher.
