The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission is an interstate, intercounty and intercity agency that provides comprehensive and coordinated planning for the orderly growth of the Delaware Valley region. As the region's metropolitan planning organization (MPO), the Commission provides technical assistance and services to its member state and local governments. Delaware Valley Data is our periodic series of free data bulletins and complementary analytical reports. This data bulletin contains population data by minor civil division for the extended 28-County Data Service Region (see map on page 4) and replaces data previously released in Data Bulletin No. 38.

Table 1 summarizes 1980, 1990 and 2000 population data for the nine counties in the DVRPC region, and Table 2 identifies the sixteen municipalities in DVRPC's 9-county region that gained the most residents between 1990 and 2000. Table 3 provides sub-regional and regional population totals, while Table 4 lists the 1980, 1990 and 2000 population by minor civil division for the entire 28-county extended data service area and calculates the absolute and percent changes in population over the two decades.
