The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission
Announces for Public Review:
The DVRPC Draft Year 2030 Long-Range Plan, Destination 2030;
The Transportation Conformity Finding; and
The Draft DVRPC FY 2006
Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
for New Jersey
WE HAVE A VISION FOR THE REGION ...
... the Delaware Valley's population and employment opportunities are growing;
... while prime farmland and open space are preserved for future generations;
... and quality of life and equity for all are not just a dream, but a reality.
In order to achieve this vision, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC)
utilizes a number of opportunities to steer the region in the right direction. Our Long-Range Plan and our Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) are the two vital ingredients needed to plan and implement a healthy and desirable region in the years to come.
DVRPC has opened a public comment period for the Draft FY 2006 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the counties of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer in New Jersey. The Draft TIP for New Jersey contains nearly 130 projects totaling $1.1 billion for phases to be advanced over the next three years.
In addition, DVRPC is presenting the Draft Long-Range Plan: Destination 2030 - a series of documents designed to enhance the linkages between transportation and land use, as well as to address bicycle/pedestrian needs, aviation issues, goods movement, and transportation operations. In conjunction with the Plan and the TIP, DVRPC has issued a conformity finding , which is the process that ensures that plans and programs receiving federal funding are consistent with the region's air quality goals.
Copies of the Draft TIP, Conformity Finding, and summaries of the 2030 Plan elements are available for review at numerous libraries throughout the Delaware Valley, as well as in DVRPC's library (located at 190 N. Independence Mall West, Philadelphia, PA) and on the DVRPC web page at www.dvrpc.org. The documents will also be available for review at the public meetings.
