Transportation/Land Use Coordination Intern
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This internship is an opportunity to provide assistance with the Central Jersey Transportation Forum and Congestion Management Process. It will involve independent work on discrete projects as well as providing assistance with broader efforts.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- • Prepare technical reports with supervision
- Summarize land use and transportation planning documents such as master plans
- Research and apply quantitative analysis techniques relating to congestion management
- Assist in preparing for and supporting meetings
- Perform related work as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- • Knowledge of, and interest in, transportation and land use planning and their coordination
- Knowledge and ability with Microsoft Excel, Access, and ESRI ArcView
- Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner in writing and orally
- Ability to analyze and present technical data clearly and concisely
- Ability to organize time and and flexibly shift between different tasks
AVAILABILITY:
This position requires a minimum commitment of 21 hours per week (3 days/week) although a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week is preferred. There may be opportunity to extend this internship.SALARY:
Paid position at hourly rates. Students with Federal/PHEAA Work Study Grants are encouraged to apply.MINIMUM EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Must be in an approved program as part of a college or university, or have a baccalaureate degree in any related discipline, plus substantial experience, interest or involvement in transportation issues. A student enrolled in a master-level program is preferred.TO APPLY:
