Work Program Policy Analysis

Meeting Frequency: Once a month, fourth Thursday, excluding August and November. The December meeting is a Board Retreat held on a date approved by the Board.

The Board is an 18-member body having the authority and responsibility to make decisions affecting the entire organization as well as the nine-county region. It creates and defines the duties of the Office of the Executive Director and the various DVRPC committees; and approves and adopts the annual planning work program. In its capacity as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the region, the Board establishes regional transportation policies, determines allocation of available transportation funds and prioritizes transportation projects for the region. In addition to transportation planning for highways, transit, airports and freight, the agency develops plans and policies for other regional physical planning elements such as land use, air quality, housing, water supply and water quality.

The Executive Committee is a 10-member body charged with managing the administrative and fiscal affairs of the Commission including awarding of contracts and the adoption of the annual budget.

Board Work Program Committee (WPC)

Meeting Frequency: As needed basis from September to January.
The Board Work Program Committee (WPC) is responsible for the development of the Unified Planning Work Program for each fiscal year and makes recommendations to the DVRPC Board concerning its adoption. The Interstate Compact which created DVRPC requires that the Annual Work Program be adopted by March 1 of each year.

Board Policy Analysis Committee (BPAC)

Meeting Frequency: As needed basis
The Board Policy Analysis Committee (BPAC) was created to identify and guide staff research and analysis of critical issues facing the region. The BPAC provides a forum to address current and emerging high priority regional issues not included in the annual work program and reports its recommendations to the DVRPC Board for appropriate action.
