AGENDA

1. Welcome and Introductions - Richard Bickel, Deputy Director, Regional Planning

2. Status of the American Community Survey - Whittona Burrell, Information Services Specialist, United States Census Bureau

The American Community Survey is a new nationwide survey designed to provide periodic and timely updates of how communities are changing, as opposed to the detailed population and household data available every 10 years through the traditional Census. The ACS is a critical element in the Census Bureau's re-engineered 2010 census plan, with plans to replace the traditional "long-form" questionnaire with this new survey. Ms. Burrell will discuss ongoing Census programs and developments, including the status and future of the ACS.

3. Shaping Our Future: A Comprehensive Housing Plan for Montgomery County - Brian O'Leary, County Planning Section Chief, Montgomery County Planning Commission

In March, 2004, Montgomery County completed and released a comprehensive county housing plan that addresses housing supply, variety, and affordability as well as neighborhood conservation and design. Brian O'Leary, Section Chief of County Planning, will present the County's housing vision for 2025 and discuss key elements of the Plan.
