DELAWARE VALLEY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION
REGIONAL HOUSING COMMITTEE MEETING

MONDAY, June 8, 1998
10:00 A.M.

AGENDA

1. Discussion Item: Potential Work Program Projects

The primary purpose of this meeting will be to discuss and evaluate potential housing-related projects which might be considered for inclusion in the Commission's Fiscal Year 1999 Work Program. Mike Gatti, DVRPC's Work Program Coordinator, will briefly discuss the work program planning process, followed by group discussion.

Previous DVRPC housing projects have included assessments and discussions of homeownership; the rental market; public and assisted housing; and homelessness. In addition, staff has considered the discrepancy between the location of the region's emerging employment centers and its affordable housing. The Commission also maintains Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data for review by interested parties, and annually produces summaries of residential building permits. In 1993 and again in 1995, DVRPC prepared growth monitoring reports which provided information on development proposals, new construction and housing values. Future projects might include updates or continuations of these topics, or may focus on other more current or relevant issues. Interested RHC members are asked to discuss potential project ideas with their staff prior to the meeting.

2. Information Item: Demonstration of HMDA Works (as time allows)

If time allows, Mary Bell, Senior Regional Planner at DVRPC, will provide a brief demonstration of some of the capabilities of HMDA Works, software recently acquired by DVRPC which facilitates the analysis of Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) information on lending activity in the Delaware Valley region.
