DVRPC has worked with area economic development and planning agencies to identify a set of key transportation investments to facilitate economic growth in the region. Staff will present the results of this effort and request Board approval.

The Board Chair will announce the FY 2009 Board committee Appointments for FY 2009.
PRESENTATIONS
6. Giving a Voice to Freight
Leslie Blakey, a principal with Blakey & Agnew, LLC, will focus on the looming 2009 authorization of SAFETEA-LU and the Coalition's strategies for freight advocacy in the coming months. Ms. Blakey will briefly touch on some background information on the coalition, as well as a quick summary of the current freight transportation situation. The bulk of the presentation, however, will focus on the Coalition's policies going into the authorization cycle and our strategies for promoting those policies and securing more federal funding for freight and goods movement. First and foremost, Ms. Blakey will update the Board on the Coalition's Freight Trust Fund policy. Ms. Blakey will also touch on the coalition's take on a few pieces of legislation currently making the rounds in Congress.
7. Putting Some Teeth Into Comprehensive Planning
Joseph M. Hoeffel, Montgomery County Commissioner, will present Montgomery County's plans to establish policies and funds for economic development and transportation improvements and how to use those funds along with the existing open space program to implement the comprehensive plan for Montgomery County.
