DVRPC has prepared a draft policy paper on the Reauthorization of the Federal
Transportation Act which has been reviewed by the Board Policy Analysis Committee,
the RTC, and the RCC. Recommended revisions from these committees have been
incorporated into the policy paper and action is now being requested for Board
adoption.
PennDOT provides operating assistance to selected TMAs in the region. The funds
are distributed to support travel demand management promotion to mitigate traffic
congestion. Proposals have been submitted by the TMAs and PennDOT has requested
DVRPC provide administrative assistance and oversite of these programs. Six
proposals will be presented for Board approval.
MAP is a Pennsylvania partnership among county governments, operating agencies, and DVRPC to modify travel behaviors. Activities include developing travel demand management strategies, promotion of share-a-ride, and outreach in highly congested corridors. The MAP applications will be presented for Board approval to continue this work for another year.
PENNVEST has forwarded to DVRPC four applications for review for consistency with the regional plan.
This program will offer DVRPC's services for New Jersey municipalities in the areas of municipal assessment, natural resource inventory, open space and recreation plan, or conservation element of a master plan.
Dennis Winters, Chairman of the RCC, will report to the Board the activities of the RCC's Meeting of January 14, 2002.

Staff will present the recently completed DVRPC Analytical Data Report which
examines the region's changing economic base over the past 30 years. This report
examines the regional economy relative to the nation and other competing regions,
and explores the specific sectors where the Delaware Valley shows strength and
opportunities for economic growth.
