NJDOT Route 1 Regional Growth Strategy (RT1RGS)
As a result of ongoing discussions by the Central Jersey Transportation Forum and efforts by various entities to address the mobility needs of the region, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, with the assistance of the several municipalities, counties, private-sector stakeholders and state agency partners will evaluate and propose strategies that will lead to Smart Growth outcomes for the Route 1 Corridor in Central New Jersey. This effort will develop an economic and transportation strategy for the region that is sustainable and consistent with Smart Growth outcomes.
NJDOT in partnership with fifteen municipalities and three counties in the corridor between Trenton and New Brunswick and other stakeholders will devise a regional strategy. This project is coordinated with the Forum. The Forum will regularly discuss and contribute to the RT1RGS and will likely be involved in following through on the resulting agreements. In order to keep Forum members and others fully informed, major presentations of the Route 1 Regional Growth Strategy are being posted here.
