Long-Range Planning Intern
Job Description
Assist with research and writing of policy reports and plans for the Greater Philadelphia metropolitan region. Topics to be addressed may include transportation investment scenario planning, transportation system needs assessment, housing and jobs access, and economic development.
Responsibilities
The student will assist professional staff with research, data collection, trends analysis, graphic design, report preparation, and public outreach. Intern may also participate or assist in meetings with stakeholders, study committees, and other government agencies.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and interest in transportation, housing, and economic development issues in the Delaware Valley.
- Ability to perform in-depth research and analysis with a strong background in database management, statistics, and modeling.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Initiative and ability to work both independently and in teams.
- High level of professionalism.
Availability
This position requires a minimum commitment of 8-15 hours per week (1-2 days/week) during the spring and fall semesters and 37.5 hours per week during the summer.
Compensation
Students with Work Study grants preferred.
Minimum Education and Training
Must have completed at least THREE YEARS of a college/university program or (preferably) be enrolled in a master's program in planning or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
