Benefits @ a Glance

DVRPC provides medical, prescription, and dental insurance to all Regular Full-Time employees and their eligible family members (dependents) and domestic partners (two individuals of the same gender who, together, each meet all of the criteria set forth in the Domestic Partner Affidavit). Coverage for RFT employees takes effect after they have successfully completed 90 days of orientation.

*The tax liability that employees have when adding a domestic partner is not paid for by DVRPC.

Two options for Medical Health Insurance:

  1. Personal Choice (PPO)
    $10.00 co-pay with no need to select a primary doctor or receive referrals for specialists. Has a healthy lifestyles program.
  2. Keystone Health Plan East (HMO)
    $2.00 co-pay for primary care and $0.00 for referred specialists. Includes a $100.00 reimbursement every two years for contacts or glasses.

All employees enrolled in a health care program will be enrolled in DVRPC's Prescription Plan and Dental program.

Waiver of Health/Dental

Health insurance or Health and Dental insurance can be waived for a cash reimbursement. You must be covered by another health insurance program and provide DVRPC with verification. Employees are eligible to sign up for this program each year at open enrollment.

Life Insurance

Coverage is provided to Regular Full-Time employees in the amount of their annual salary rounded up to the nearest thousand. Employees age 70 or older are provided coverage in the amount of half their annual salary rounded up to the nearest thousand.

TransitChek

A $60.00/month tax-free commuter benefit is provided to Regular Full-Time employees, to be used on any local transit provider or vanpool service. Employees have the option of purchasing additional TransitCheks tax-free, up to the current maximum amount allowable by the IRS.

Vacation Leave

DVRPC Regular Full-Time employees annually accrue up to:

  • 10 days per year for less than 1 year of service,
  • 15 days per year for one to ten years of service, and
  • 20 days per year for after 10 years of service

Sick Leave

DVRPC Regular Full-Time employees accrue up to 15 sick days per year.

Personal Leave

Regular Full-Time employees receive 4 personal leave days that must be used within the calendar year. Regular Part-Time Hourly employees enjoy the benefit on a pro-rated level.

Holidays

DVRPC Regular Full-Time employees receive 12 paid holidays per year. In order to be paid for the holiday, you must be in compensable status both the day before and the day after a holiday.

Retirement

All Regular Full-Time and Regular Part-Time employees will become members of the Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System (SERS). Regular Full-Time employees are eligible to enroll in the Deferred Compensation Program (457b).

Supplemental Voluntary Insurance

Regular Full-Time employees are eligible to purchase additional Life, Disability, Accident, Cancer and Critical Illness insurances.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Allows Regular Full-Time employees to enroll in a Medical and/or Dependent Care account to pay for out-of-pocket expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Credit Union

You and your family members are eligible to join the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU).
